Hi Everybody!!
Please remember that we have our field trip all day to Mt. Royal University for Economics for Success! If you have not returned your form...please bring it first thing on Monday morning. Thanks.
This is a big study weekend for Chem...your Performance Based Assessment is on Tuesday (expect to use most of the double period).
We need to be thinking ahead for an Algebra assessment. I know 903 & 904 write on Thursday...please pencil Thursday in for now.
Here are those 9 'stations' that we had on the board for Chem.
1. Go over your Ionic vs Molecular lab...get some peer & self assessment for the critical thinking response.
2. Review & mark your Ionic/Molecular quiz.
3. What are always the reactants & products of combustion? Why do we close doors during a fire?
4. What is the chemical/word equation for corrosion? What can you do to slow or prevent rusting? Why did I always get in trouble for leaving my bike outside?
5. Watch the videos (find example of chemical reactions on the internet)...identify the evidence that a chemical reaction has happened.
6. Go over the Law of Conservation of Mass questions from the back of the Chem Reactions assignment. In your groups, compare your answers and ensure that everybody is on the same page.
7. How can I speed up these reactions? cooking, campfire, digestion
8. How can you slow down chemical reactions? Explain fully.
9. What is the chemical reaction for photosynthesis? What is the chemical reaction for cellular respiration? Why is this a match made in heaven? Which is exothermic? Which is endothermic?
